What you will need to get started...
An Idea........What do you want to do with your site? What is your goal with the site? Are you going to sell something or is it just information.
Pictures.......Images that you put on your site are important. Remember, Presentation is everything. When you are taking pictures, digital images are always easy to deal with and if they are not in digital format, ie. on a cd or stored in a computer, then they will have to be converted before we can use them. When you are taking pictures for a web site, make sure you take those pics in low resolution; ideally 40-75kb in order to keep it dial-up friendly.
Information.....What is it that you want to say on your web site? Usually, you will want contact information, information to use in an "About Us" page, price lists, directions including a map, etc. If you get us an address, we can generate a map from Mapquest.com to include in your web site.

A domain name..... This is a good one to spend a lot of time to think about. Make sure the name is easy to remember as well as pronounce. You may also think about registering more than one name. If you want the .com, you may also want the same name with .net. This will help to protect you and your business from copy cats. |
